Response Grants

Response Grants provide planning or start-up funds for new programs intended to meet the emerging or unmet health and human service needs of people in our service area.  In 2007, Upper Valley United Way (UVUW) provided $30,000 in Response Grants to local nonprofits.

As is the case with our Partner Program Grants, community members volunteer to serve on a review committee.  Applications are reviewed to assess the appropriateness of the grant request.  Volunteers are trained and then teams meet with program staff and a Board member of the sponsoring organization.  If a program site has been established, teams will make a site visit.
